The criticisms of Valencia CF They have not stopped in the last few hours, after the ‘che’ club published a tweet using one of the most widespread memes on Twitter.

The Valencian club has used it to promote the Taronja tournament that will be held this Saturday in Mestalla and that will face Gattuso’s team with the Italian Atalanta.

The meme consists of an image split in half. On one side, there is a well-groomed young woman wearing a dress on which you can read “how she gets ready”, while on the other the party poster appears under the title “where am I going to take her”.

Later, Valencia published the same montage but with a man instead of a woman. In this case, he appears dressed in a full suit. “How does he dress up, where am I going to take him,” he says.

The publication, which has been online for just over half a day, has become a viral phenomenon and has been heavily criticized by users, who have condemned the account’s macho attitude.

“Sexist”, “what a regrettable tweet” or “what a shame” are some of the comments that Valencia has received, especially because of the young woman’s meme.

After this sea of criticism, Valencia has defended itself with some statements that Cadena Ser has collected. In them, the club claims to follow in the footsteps of an already created trend and apply it “to the Valencian reality.”

“In case there was any hint of a macho tint, another tweet was applied with a man,” justifies the ‘che’ club, which explains that the young woman is the girlfriend of a famous singer and that it is “very viral on Twitter.

Finally, Valencia also makes it clear that “the tweet is in line with the informal language of this social network, aimed at young people, with non-macho overtones” and that the only function of the profile tweet is to “inform and entertain” .

These are some of the criticisms that Valencia has received:
