TCL continues to work to position itself in the mobile phone market mobiles What alternative to better known manufacturers, route in which it entered to expand its spectrum of technological brand. If its side is characterized by something smartphone is your bet on the mid-range and variety of options. The TCL 30 series, the third generation, already has seven members, among which the TCL 30+ appears, a competent option if a device is searched affordable.
The TCL 30+, launched within the framework of the MWC, combines suggestive looks with ‘trimmed’ specs that point the good and the least favorable of a mobile of less than 200 euros (it went on sale for 199 euros). Definitely its strong point, the best, lies in its 6.7-inch screen (large size) and quality amoled with FHD+ resolution and up to 900 nits of brightness.
The experience, which would have been rounded off with a refresh rate of at least 90 Hz (it stays at 60 Hz and more fluidity is missing), It is accompanied by the extra visual improvements (including image optimization, which improves contrast, sharpness, and shadow detail) that brings NXTVision, distinctive feature of TCL mobiles. Also, the images are complemented by the good stereo sound from the two speakers, which can surprise.
What was raised with the panel motivates not to bother the notch (the black notch) to house the selfie camera (13 MP), a feature that is less and less common but still common in cheap phones.
Its design may be too simple at first, although the finish on the back attracts to the touch and by the fact that it almost completely camouflages the traces. In his hand it is perceived comfortablealthough due to its size it is difficult to handle it with one hand. Its thinness (7.74 mm thickan interesting figure although it does not reach the levels of the finest) and its weight (185 grams) play in its favor. The ring that surrounds the main camera, with light effects when moving italso gives it a showy touch within the minimalist.
Another positive aspect is found in the 5,000 mAh battery and the autonomy that it implies. Joy is not always complete and here the issue manifests itself in a discreet 18W fast charge for current canons. If only it had been 33W…
With respect to photographic and video performance, the results are generally ascribed to the correct, no bragging. It has a 50 MP main camera and with two secondary cameras in the testimonial background, one depth and one macro (2 MP). It’s weird not finding an ultra wide angle.
The problem with the TCL 30+ arises regarding a performance that sometimes raises doubts. A priori your processor, the MediaTek Helio G37 (4G)referred to the modest, and the sensations are confirmed when using the telephone, also with only 4 GB of RAM (yes, with 128 GB of internal storage). Especially when turning it on, it limps (it can ‘jerk’) and is slow when moving through the applications. Then it sings, but of course there are times when it does not offer satisfactory fluidity. If it is expected to be used intensively, the circumstance must be taken into account.
In the Smart Manager section it is verified that from the start, with the initial configuration, it already uses more than 60% of the capacity. The system delete option in the background and, if it slows down too much, expand RAM and get 1 GB more, a good output.
The TCL 30+ operates with android 12 according to the TCL UI layer, compliant but that abuses the apps pre-installed. On the other hand, when it comes to details you like budget phones to keep, respect the headphone jack and the microSD slot. Its fingerprint sensor is on the side.
