Paired with a Galaxy smartphone, the latest portable device software updates offer users new ways to capture the world as they see and hear it.

Samsung has announced new software updates for the series Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Galaxy Watch, elevating content capture for Galaxy users around the world. Samsung Galaxy smartphones have long delivered the best photo and video experiences, enabling users to create, capture and share their best moments.

Now, when paired with the latest portable devices, the already powerful Galaxy Camera is further bolstered with 360 Audio Recording, the unique feature that brings surround sound to video content, along with an update to the Camera Driver that makes make remotely zooming in and out easier. These software updates reflect Samsung’s ongoing commitment to deliver the most up-to-date experiences to existing devices.

360 Audio Recording: Capture the world as you hear it

The new feature 360 Audio Recording[1] allows users to capture sound on video, precisely as they hear it. By linking Galaxy Buds2 Pro With a Galaxy smartphone, everyone can record like a pro and capture high-quality, lifelike audio for video without the need for bulky professional equipment—anytime, anywhere. The feature captures 360-degree sound through a microphone in each earpiece, placing viewers at the center of a crowd at a festival or next to a bubbling stream in the middle of a forest. Users can put on connected headphones and play the video on their device or social media channel to hear realistic, immersive sounds that emulate a real-world experience.

360 Audio Recording is the first feature in the Galaxy line to take advantage of LE Audio, an advanced new Bluetooth audio standard. This new technology improves audio quality, latency, and battery life. In addition to delivering better music sound, LE Audio also broadens the spectrum of audio experiences to deliver richer, more complex sound that can be shared with others. Now LE Audio brings binaural recording to the Galaxy Buds2 Pro, taking advantage of the left and right microphones at the same time. By linking the Buds2 Pro with a Galaxy Z Flip4 or Fold4, users are immersed in the moment, benefiting from high-quality stereo audio, as well as high-quality video.

Camera Controller: Frame the perfect shot from your wrist

Photography and video with Galaxy smartphones is about maintaining creative control in any situation. One example is the Galaxy Watch Camera Controller app, which allows users to control their phone’s camera directly from their wrist. A new update – soon to be available in the series Galaxy Watch5 and Watch4 – adds zoom functions to the Camera Controller[2], further expanding the Galaxy camera experience with Galaxy smartphone and Galaxy Watch connectivity. Now users can remotely control the zoom of their phone’s camera with a simple pinch of the watch face or a twist of the rotating bezel – perfect for taking group shots or solo selfies from a distance and eliminating the need to go and come to the camera to frame the perfect photo.

New 360 Audio Recording feature will be rolled out progressively on Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4 via software updates starting todayone. The updated function of the Camera Controller will be available in the Galaxy Watch5, Watch5 Pro, Watch4 and Watch4 Classic from February2. These new features for wearable devices are expected to provide more powerful synergies with the new capabilities of the Galaxy camera, offering new and never-before-seen experiences.
