Trek FX+, the city is its habitat

The Trek FX+ tries to differentiate itself from the great offer of existing urban electric bicycles, due to its lightnesswhich allows its use to be suitable for day-to-day use in the city, thanks to a lightweight aluminum frame that comes standard with some very useful accessories: fenders, lights and luggage rack.

Trek FX+, the electric version of Trek’s best-selling bike, now more urban than ever.

Its electrical system is made up of a motor located in the rear wheel hub able to offer up 40Nm of torque on your way out. The maximum assist speed is 25km/h, adapting to European regulations. It feeds on a drums of 250Wh with sufficient autonomy, according to the brand, to support the cyclist’s pedaling on their urban journeys throughout the day and recharge at night. Trek pins it on 55 kilometers, which depend on the type of cyclist, their demand for power, the topography of the terrain they are riding on and the weather. In any case, that autonomy can be doubled if a second Range Extender battery is added which is placed in the bottle cage.

Thanks to a compact electrical system the complete set is five kilograms lighter than most urban electric bikes on the market. As standard, it has lights, fenders and a rear rack. Included in the handlebar is a control system very easy to operate, with an on and off button and two others to raise and lower the assistance level. LED lights indicate, in red, the level of assistance and in green the state of charge of the battery.

According to Krishna Menon, Trek’s director of marketing for children’s and urban products, the FX+ has been developed and manufactured “with the idea of ​​making electric bicycles more accessible to all types of cyclists”. For this, the light frame, the intuitive configuration controls and the price have been key for “this new platform to be as popular as our conventional FX family”.

It is offered in two versions, FX+2 and FX+3 Stagger, which differ in the height of the upper bar, almost horizontal in the first case and falling below the seat post in the second. In both cases, the sale price through the Trek website, where all the technical specifications can also be consulted, is €2,499.

Trek Dual Sport+, versatility above all

This is the electric version of the Trek Dual Sport that stands out for its lightness and versatility since, in addition to the city, adapts to other terrains and uses. To keep the FX+ light, the electrical system is completely identical. an engine of 250 W of power and 40 Nm of torque at the output, mounted on the rear wheel hub and a 250Wh battery of capacity, enough whatever the use that is going to be given, according to Trek.

To adapt to more types of terrain, it has some wider tires which stabilize the bike more. The autonomy is 55 kilometers, as in the previous case, which can be doubled using the Range Extender, a second battery with the same capacity as the main one.
