(CNN Spanish) — Shakira’s song with Bizarrap is everywhere and has everyone —the media, followers, users on social networks— looking at it with a magnifying glass due to the large number of references that the Colombian makes in her most recent song after the break with her ex-partner, the former footballer Gerald Piqué.

And it is not for less because Session No. 53 of Shakira and Bizarrap has a letter that alludes to empowerment and confidence, and how to move on after a love break, but also many references that can become hidden messages for your ex , Gerard Piqué.

But in addition to this there is a series of references that… could cause confusion?

In this case, you don’t have to be very daring to understand the comparisons between the past and the present of the relationship. But also in Piqué’s taste for brand cars and watches, such as Ferraris and Rolexes, which need no introduction.

But perhaps the Twingo does need an explanation, a vehicle from the Renault company that was launched in the early 1990s, and whose characteristic appearance (“frog face”, they called it colloquially) has mobilized thousands of families for years.

This car was launched at the 1992 Paris Motor Show and the first-generation Twingo was first sold in 1993, according to the company. In the Colombian market, this car was assembled for the first time in Medellín in 1995 and in Colombian history it has an “icon” status and was for many years one of the ten best-selling cars in the country, so it is not uncommon for the Colombian has it on the radar.

The Twingo is a small, urban car, with little power compared to a sports car like a Ferrari, and also low cost, with a current market price of about US$26,500 in its most recent version, which is an electric car.

By comparison, a Ferrari can vary in cost depending on the model, but one of the brand’s latest, the 818-horsepower 296 GTB, model 2021, costs about $353,000.

Definitely going from a Rolex to a Casio has caused a great debate in networks. The truth is that this comparison refers to the popular watches of the Japanese brand that came on the market in the 1970s versus the exclusive watches that can cost thousands of dollars.

The first model of the Japanese watch was the Casiotron, which for years was a benchmark in watches, since in the mid-70s there was a change from mechanical watches to quartz watches, according to the company.

By then, the novelty with these Casios was that they didn’t just show the time: they detailed hours, minutes and seconds and were “equipped with the world’s first watch calendar that automatically adjusted” the date, according to the company. More models would follow, this time featuring a smart calendar watch, which even correctly counted February 29 in leap years. And by the mid-’70s, the “X-1 featured stopwatch and world time functions.”

Quite a novelty… for 50 years ago.

The comparison? Rolexes are exclusive watches that can cost up to $75,000, not to mention models that for years “have accompanied exceptional figures,” according to the manufacturer’s website. Currently prices for a Casio are between US$22.95 and US$4,000, according to its website.

Although Casios are not a symbol of luxury and exclusivity like a Rolex, perhaps they do have an imprint of being comfortable and functional at a much more accessible price than Rolexes, although they are not necessarily glamorous…

And Shakira knows it.
